A majestic Great Egret (Ardea alba modesta) stands gracefully on a shallow patch in the lake, showcasing its elegant stature and long, curved neck.
Great Egret – Ardea alba modesta – นกยางโทนใหญ่ (nok yang ton yai). The Great Egret is the largest among the egrets. Its neck measures about one and a half times the length of its body—longer and more curved than the Intermediate Egret—with a distinctive kink that’s visible when not fully extended. A noticeable line also runs from its bill past the eye, adding to its refined appearance.
