Stingray - Making some dust

Stingray – Dasyatis pastinaca – Making Some Dust

A graceful stingray with a disc-shaped body, slightly wider than long, and a pointed snout. Lacking a dorsal fin, its tail is about 1.5 times the body length. Its olive-toned back, with subtle reddish hues, blends perfectly with sandy-muddy and detrital seabeds. Found from shallow waters to depths of 200 meters, this species can reach an impressive 2.5 meters in size. Here, it stirs up the seabed, creating a cloud of dust in its wake.
