Barracuda – Sphyraena sphyraena – In a Hurry
Fast, sleek, and unmistakable — Sphyraena sphyraena cuts through the water like a torpedo. This barracuda has a long, streamlined body, sharp snout, and an underslung jaw full of teeth. The two dorsal fins are set far apart, and the bluish-grey back is streaked with dark bands. Found in open water from the surface down to about 100 meters. Can grow up to 165 cm in length.
