Picarel

Picarel – Spicara smaris

The picarel (Spicara smaris) is a small species of ray-finned fish found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Black Sea. Growing up to 20 cm in length, with females generally smaller than males, picarels are known for their slender bodies and silvery appearance. Common in coastal waters, they are often seen in schools and provide charming subjects for underwater photography.
