Drumfish – Sciaenidae

Drumfish belong to the family Sciaenidae, a large group of species also known as croakers or hardheads due to the distinctive drumming or throbbing sounds they produce. The family includes around 275 species across about 70 genera, such as the weakfish. These fish are part of the order Perciformes and are recognized for their varied appearances and fascinating acoustic behavior, making them intriguing subjects for underwater photography.
