Comber

Comber – Serranus

Combers belong to the genus Serranus in the family Serranidae, commonly known as the Atlantic dwarf sea basses. These small reef fish are remarkable for being hermaphrodites, with each individual carrying both male and female reproductive organs. During spawning, one fish takes the role of male and the other of female. Their intriguing biology, compact form, and reef-dwelling behavior make them fascinating subjects for underwater photography.
