Butterflyfish – Chaetodontidae
Butterflyfish are among the most colorful and conspicuous tropical reef fish, belonging to the family Chaetodontidae. This group also includes bannerfish and coralfish. Around 129 species across 12 genera are found mostly on coral reefs in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. With their striking patterns and bright colors, butterflyfish are a favorite subject in underwater photography, often seen swimming in pairs or gliding gracefully among corals.
